Chris Feland and Jon Hockhalter, principals
of Concrete Studio, opened
Lifescapes Incorporated in November of 2004 to provide consumers
beautiful concrete countertops. While working for a local
concrete ready mix company as a Concrete Pump Operator, Jon saw
first-hand the versatility and untapped potential of concrete.
By combining Jon’s seven years of working with concrete, and Chris’
seven years as Marketing Manager for a
distribution company in Detroit Lakes, a winning mix of
creativity and excellence in customer service was
created.
Concrete
Studio serves the
Upper Midwest in creating handmade,
one-of-a-kind, concrete interiors. Trained first hand with the
techniques and stylistic approaches of renowned designer Fu-Tung
Cheng, Concrete Studio will create the ultimate concrete showpiece
for your home or commercial setting.
Concrete is an excellent solid surface
alternative to other common surfaces because of its versatility to
be manipulated into any shape or form. Countertops, bar tops,
fireplace surrounds, hearthscapes, decorative flooring, and
furniture, are all options that can be fully customized to meet your
creative needs. Each and every piece is unique unto itself, as
such; concrete is the “Persian rug” of the solid surface
industry.

We train with author and designer Fu-Tung
Cheng at his Berkeley, California studio and offer his
signature and proprietary mirrorlike finish. The owners of
